Bonita

This is Bonita. Look at those green eyes. She knew exactly how stunning she was and she didn't care what you thought about it. Bonita came into our lives in 2001, just a month after I moved in with my now husband. She started out as an outdoor farm cat and eventually became an indoor girl later in life. She was fiercely independent, a total badass, and she loved me on her own terms. When the babies started arriving she got a little more to herself. But she always found her way back to me for a cuddle when she wanted one. That was Bonita. Everything on her schedule.

She died in 2014 and I still miss her.

She became the face of our family brand BubbSnugg, which my husband and I created together. It felt right. She was the original. I also made a calico cat sticker in her honor — you can find that right here in my shop — and her calico spirit lives on in the BubbSnugg Zazzle shop too.
