I'm trying - really I am. A lot has been going on lately. I opened my etsy. My father is coming to visit - which means I've been overly cleaning my house. And of course there is Anson - my drawing time is his nap time - which is getting less and less.

I know, I know, these are all excuses. Really I just need the motivation - which I have yet to find - it is an up and down - as far as art goes lately - I am on a down. But I promise - it will turn around, it always does - and I will finish her.

Scorpio Belly Dancer is finished! Click the above picture to see the full drawing. She is also available on products *including a belly bag* at my Art Shop.

I am very happy with how she turned out. Only one more to go now and that is Sagittarius. Expect to see her in a month or so.

After that who knows? It feels like I have been working on the Zodiac Dancer series for so long now - actually it has been over a year, because I started with Capricorn, and that was during that sign.

Maybe seasonal dancers - like summer, winter, fall, spring? Maybe Dancers based on flowers like Tiger Lily, Rose, Sunflower, etc? Any ideas? I want something smaller like the seasons - or something without a set number - like the flowers. I need a break from the big projects, because they sound so good when I start but towards the end, I just feel overwhelmed.

The Artists who shaped my art -

First I have to say the technique I use today is all Mark. The high contrast colors and thick inking was something he did back in the day - when we first met. He used to do little artworks of different epinions members. Including Mark P. (fallenjesusboy)

Alphonse Mucha and Jonathon Earl Bowser, are the awesome. If I won the lottery and could get one frivolous thing - it would be a commissioned piece by Jonathon. Alphonse Mucha art is all over my kitchen.

I have been on an art high lately. Working on it anytime I can get a chance - the downside - less time for the internet, and my 365 - once again trying to find the balance.

I started it - and love it.

She will be available this way (B&W) on products in my shop ONLY until the end of Feb.

I can't believe I am this far with it already. I didn't think I'd even get to it for another month or so - I guess I am on a roll. Hopefully I can get this done and be inspired to do Sagittarius right away - then the Zodiac Belly Dancer Series will be finished. I was thinking about doing "The Seasons of Belly Dancers" or something like that next - haven't really figured out what to call it yet - winter spring summer and fall. I need to do a smaller set next, something not so overwhelming. Maybe a flower set as well, because there would be a set number to do - like Rose, Iris and such. We'll see. I really just want to have fun with my artwork again.

I will start coloring her this weekend, once I get more supplies.

So, Libra Belly Dancer is finally finished. It feels like it took forever.

I don't know when I will start on another one. I find that I am not a very disciplined artist. It's all on a whim - I just get a bust of inspiration, then it may fizzle out for a bit. I wish I could be one of those people who could just draw anything asked of them right then and there - but that's just not me.

I haven't drawn a new belly dancer since before Anson was born. My zodiac series only has 4 left, I really need to get back to that. Plus like 4 or 5 belly dancers want me to draw them. I've told them all I will, but haven't set any time lines.

Today I started drawing again. I was afraid after so many months of not doing it that I had lost it. It seems I haven't - so I am now working on Belly Dancer Libra.
